Playdates and house hunting

We are busy looking for a house! I saw three that I just loved so hopefully they will stay on the market long enough for us to get an offer in on one of them.

Simon is busy getting two teeth! I thought there was just one in there, but I've had two other people tell me there are two, and now, I see the second one as well. He is crabby! We had a play date with our upstairs neighbor Wendy and her 11-month-old daughter Katalina. Simon usually likes Katalina, but this time, the second he saw her, he burst into tears. Then he snuggled against me for a really long time just staring at her. I don't know what his problem was. We had to point him the other direction, so he couldn't see her, and then he was okay, but the second she would go into his line of sight, tears and screaming. "sigh" Simon. In his defense though, she was crawling all over him, trying to hug him and kiss him, so maybe he was afraid of getting cooties. :) After about a half hour, he was fine to play with her. He wanted to touch her hair and her face. He smiled at her a little and I had hope that he was going to have fun. This lasted for about ten minutes until Katalina decided to punch him in the nose. Needless to say, that was the end of our play date since both kids started to cry.

It is interesting watching boys and girls at this age together. You could definitely tell who was the girl and who was the boy. Katalina loved our handbags and I had on an ankle bracelet that kept her entertained for a long time. Simon, sat in the grass and worked on pulling up blades of grass and rolling around, while Katalina would pull up her feet the second they touched the grass.

Simon is busy testing out his new talent - crawling. He's mostly rocking back and forth, but he does take a few little crawls once in awhile. He's also sticking his butt up in the air. I've had two people tell me that means he wants to walk, not crawl. uh-oh.

Would you please post a video (when you have a minute or two) of Simon crawling. I'd love to see it! Good observations about boys and girls; they are so different right from these earliest days.

Mom
